Floyd Cramer Plays 🎵Java
From his 1963 album, Swing Along with Floyd Cramer 🎹 Today's Song of the Day
Floyd Cramer Plays 🎵Java
Written by the great Allen Toussaint… Java is probably most remembered as a trumpet tune from Al Hirt, who had the biggest success with the song in 1964… but it was actually Floyd Cramer’s rendition in 1962 that was the first version of the song to hit the charts.
Both Grandad’s and Al Hirt’s versions were recorded at RCA Studio B in Nashville, both were produced by Chet Atkins, and did you know that both featured Floyd Cramer on piano? Yep, Grandad played on Al Hirt’s version of Java too! (Though I don’t think that’s Al playing on the Floyd record.) 🎺🎹
