Saddened to hear news today of the passing of the legendary Connie Francis, at age 87. She was a true icon and one of the biggest international stars of her day, with a voice that’s still instantly identifiable. And funny enough, after decades out of the spotlight, she had a bit of a resurgence in recent months, as her song “Pretty Little Baby” went TikTok-viral earlier this year, putting her back on the Billboard charts and introducing her to a whole new generation of fans!

As far as I can tell, Floyd Cramer played piano on just one of Connie’s albums – her 1962 record, Country Music Connie Style, recorded in Nashville. You can hear Grandad’s slip-notes accompanying Connie’s silky smooth vocals on most every song on the record, including this one, “I’m A Fool To Care,” which starts off with a signature Floyd Cramer piano intro.
