On his 1961 On The Rebound album, Floyd Cramer kicked the slip-note style into high gear! Following the enormous success of Last Date a few months prior, Grandad put his newly-famous piano style to good use on this follow-up album full of original songs and familiar tunes, like this Bob Wills standard, which had been around for 20 years at this point. Grandad’s piano rendition of San Antonio Rose was a Top 10 hit on both the Billboard Country and Pop charts, further solidifying him as “America’s Biggest Selling Pianist” (which happened to be the name of his next album)!
