While it was made most popular by Frank Sinatra in 1964 and has been recorded by an untold number of artists through the years, this standard actually made its debut decades earlier. It was 1936 when audiences first heard Fred Astaire sing this song to Ginger Rogers in the film “Swing Time,” and in fact, it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song that year as well. For 90 years and counting, we’ve been captivated by “The Way You Look Tonight…”
