Some of you may have this 1974 Floyd Cramer In Concert album in your own collections… but did you look closely at the credits to realize that this album was recorded at a junior high school? In fact, it was a live concert from my Mom Donna’s 9th Grade Banquet at Neely’s Bend Junior High School in Madison, Tennessee! That’s right, Grandad (and his record label RCA) brought in all of the recording equipment, musicians and crew to record this album in front of an audience of 9th graders and their families!
I reckon the school PTA really hit the jackpot when it came to booking entertainment for the banquet… Of course it’s not every day that the father of one of your students happens to be the most famous piano player in the nation!
