If the Floyd Cramer slip-note piano style could be translated to a vocal style, that voice sure would sound a lot like George Jones. Think about how much The Possum could change a phrase with just an extra drawl of a vowel. You could feel every word. It makes it so fun for me to try to capture that same feeling through the piano – because when I play like George Jones sings, it comes out as slip-notes! Here’s my take on a George Jones classic with an extra dose of “feeling.”
